The concept behind the 340 Deep Vee was to build a boat to suit the commercial Game fish operator and the competitive game fisherman. The 340 fits into the job perfectly. The cockpit
is spacious allowing plenty of room for a heavy tackle chair and 5 crew. Under the cockpit sole is a live bait well and storage lockers. The teak covering boards on the side decks, heavy duty
rod holders, rocket launchers, cockpit coaming padding, transom tuna door and (soon to be included) a baiting station with sink etc., are all standard features.
The Deep Vee 340 with standard power accelerates easily and reaches a top speed of around 30 knots. Cruise speed is from 22 to 26 knots with high-speed cruise of up to 28 knots.
The 340 hull is long and lean giving it sensational fast down hill running ability. Experienced boating people marvel at the agility of these boats. It's possible to run in serious conditions at
26 knots without the boat putting a foot wrong. With the nose trimmed down into a head sea the boat will be capable of quite high speed due to the fine bows and variable deadrise hull
shape. The Deep Vee hull is designed to be trimmed bow down and there is little or no loss of speed or increase in fuel consumption.
Due to the high level of hours these vessels do in either commercial or pleasure guise, Deep Vee has ensured that they are built to last. Simple things like standard dripless shaft
seals, bronze ball values, Racor water/fuel separation filters, heavy duty engine mountings, 4 blade propellers and other standard features ensure years of hassle free boating.
These boats are fitted for game fishing and blue water cruising. In fact like all Deep Vee boats they are designed around the serious game fisherman, with appointments that the
serious entertainer will love. A tournament style helm station with vertical electronics display and 2 helm chairs. A custom Deep Vee targa top with clears is fitted as standard. This item is
as durable and dry as a hardtop with much less weight. The sturdy aluminum rubbing strip is glassed and through-bolted onto the gunwale join. Decks are painted in durable non-skid,
which has a stippled finish for proper grip.
 The 340 Deep Vee has an open plan interior
which has large entertaining area making it excellent for day charter or private game fishing. Standard the boat is fitted with 2 windows and a door across the rear bulkhead but an
open bulkhead is available. The open bulkhead blends the inside with the outside and makes the boat seem twice as big. This option is very popular with game fish charter operators.
The layout is simple and practical. There is a large V berth in the bow, bathroom to starboard with vanity and shower. A galley is opposite the
bathroom on the port side, which is fitted with 2 burner stove and fridge and has provision for a microwave. There is ample cupboard space. In the saloon is a settee berth to port which
has a back rest which lifts up to make an upper berth and leaves a double below. Opposite on the starboard side is a dinette, which will seat 4 or convert to sleep 2.
The Deep Vee team of experienced boat builders and craftsmen construct all Deep Vee boats to last a lifetime. They are built to take the constant punishment given to them by the wind and sea.
Deep Vee hulls are all hand built. The hulls are moulded in solid fibreglass with balsa core stiffening in the hull sides. The planning strakes are longitudinally glassed and filled in to
provide extra strength. Our heavy-duty stringer and bulkhead system makes the hulls very rigid and strong. All Deep Veees are fast and soft riding so they are driven hard into rough
seas and we build our boats to handle this constant hammering.
The hull/deck join is bolted and internally glassed. The deck is constructed from fibreglass with composite stiffening in the flex areas. NPG Iso Gelcoat and Vinylester resins are used in
the construction to guard against osmosis. We know our construction is equal to the best in the world.
